Biographical Data

Born September 25, 1940

Primary and Secondary education in Germany

Work-study with a graphic artist in a printing shop and foundry

Emigrated to New York City in 1957

Studied art on scholarship at NYU and The School for Visual Arts – 1958-1961

Start exhibiting in NYC group shows, 1961

Worked as designer & illustrator for graphic design studios, 1961 – 1965

Freelance illustrator for Harper’s Magazine, The NY Herald Tribune, The Reporter and others. 1965 - 1980

First NY solo exhibition of paintings, drawings and collages at the New York 6 Gallery, 1965

Instructor of painting, drawing, color and illustration at the Arts Student League, NY ,1966-1971

Moved to Sandgate VT to work as an independent painter, illustrator and teacher, 1970

Travel and work in Italy, Austria, Greece and Central America through out the 80’s and ‘90s
